Herbs and Weight loss

Some herbs help reduce body weight. For example, Ehedra and Safflower oil help increase our metabolic rate so that the body burns fats more efficiently, Onion helps increase calorie burn in the body, Burdock and Chickweed also help fat metabolism, Catnip removes toxins from the body so that the fatty tissue can be metabolized. Licorice root helps decrease cravings for sweet foods while Damiana delays gastric emptying.

In Dr. John Raymond Christopher's weight loss herbal formula, he combined chickweed, safflower flowers, burdock root, parsley, Norwegian kelp, licorice root, fennel seed, echinacea, black walnut hulls, papaya leaves and hawthorn berries together to treat overweight and obesity.

In this formula, licorice root, as mentioned, is used to curb the appetite and relieve cravings. The same for fennel seed. As the body holds on to fat reserves if it is missing essential trace elements, kelp and parsley help provide the necessary nutrients. Papaya leaves can help with metabolism and absorption while the other herbs help cleanse the blood and regulate the adrenal and thyroid glands.

Differed from weight loss pills, usually herbs do not have any side effects if taken in small doses. But they can regulate our body metabolism while help rebuild our tissues and enhance tissue functions.

Herbs

Herbs are small flowering plants. They have been used for ages by humans for the treatment of diseases and for nutrition. There are hundreds of different kinds of herbs, each with its own special properties.

Many of today's medicines such as aspirin and morphine have their origins on active elements found in herbs. Aspirin comes from willow trees while morphine from the seeds of the opium poppy. Actually, many herbs by their own can cure many diseases including cancers and cardiovascular disease. For example, Graviola contains natural compounds that have cytotoxic activity to prevent abnormal cellular division. Thus it is used for immune support and cleaning abnormal tissue growth. Hawthorn berry, on the other hand, is a tonic for all heart related issues. It nourishes the heart, increases oxygen flow to the heart muscle and improves circulation.

Some herbs, on the other hand, are renowned for their unique ability to maintain metabolism and lessen appetite. Thus they can help obese reduce body weight.

Turmeric and Inflammation

Inflammation is designed to protect our body from harmful stimuli and helps with healing process. Without inflammation, pathogens like bacteria could easily take over our bodies and kill us.

One element of our daily diet, turmeric, has shown to help with inflammation.

The key to turmeric’s healing power is the chemical compound curcumin it contains.

Curcumin is among the most potent anti-inflammatory and anti-proliferative agents in the world. This  means turmeric not only has great promise with chronic pain, but since it has less side effects, it may provide safe and lasting results.

Also due to its high anti-inflammatory properties, turmeric is highly effective at helping people manage rheumatoid arthritis and reducing redness or other skin irritations.

Turmeric is antibacterial, so it is great for blemishes, acne and skin balance. And turmeric is wonderful at improving the texture of the skin because it is an exfoliant but also rich in antioxidants.

Besides, curcumin shows a marked ability to inhibit cancer cell growth, boost antioxidant levels and the immune system, and kill cancer cells. It seems to work on improving mitochondrial function at a cellular level, and it improves metabolism. Even against drug-resistant strains of leukemia, curcumin caused cell death of cancer cells.

Turmeric also  shown to lower blood glucose levels, reverse insulin resistance and manage depression. For instance, an article published in Biochemistry and Biophysical Research Communications  shared  a study out of Auburn University that discovered curcumin suppresses glucose production in the liver.

Turmeric acted  as an anti-diabetic and antioxidant in diabetes, especially  type 1 diabetes, improved metabolic function and reduced the risk of plaque buildup in the arteries of type 2 diabetes patients.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, contributes to our body’s natural energy production and other related biological processes.

For example, B12 plays an important role in the formation of DNA. It is crucial to the processes that create healthy blood cells and keep our nervous system working properly.

Along with its role in red blood cell production, vitamin B12 also helps keep our overall cardiovascular system in check. Thus even a small B12 deficiency can have serious consequences for our health.

Running low on this important B complex nutrient can lead to general fatigue, and long-term deficiencies can lead to even worse health concerns.

According to VeganHealth.org, “Unlike animals, most, if not all, plants have no B12 requirement for any function, and therefore have no active mechanisms to produce or store B12. When B12 is found in them it can be due to contamination which is not reliable.”

And so B12 comes almost exclusively from fish and animal food sources (Sardines, Salmon,Tuna, Cod, Lamb, Scallops, Shrimp, Beef, Turkey, Chicken), cheese and eggs.

Vegetarians and vegans who eat no animal products, along with the elderly who absorb less vitamin B12 are the two most at-risk populations.

Because of its large chemical structure, vitamin B12 is not as easily absorbed as other vitamins. But it can be stored in our body up to a year.

Three healing effects from Honey

First, honey supports our immune system and fights off harmful bacteria.

Second, it provides unique antioxidants and micronutrients that benefit our body.

Lastly, honey burns differently in our body than “normal” sugar. All the extra enzymes and nutrients in honey not only help the body rebuild itself — they also regulate how the body uses the sugar.

Body acidity

When our human body is functioning at its optimal level, human body fluids and tissues exist in a slightly alkaline state. However, if our diet consists largely of "acidifying" foods, our pH balance can quickly become unbalanced.

These acidifying foods would result in our blood and body tissues to become bathed in an acidic solution. If left untreated, this acidic condition leads to diseases such as heart disease, high cholesterol and even obesity.

And so if you experience more than 2 of the symptoms listed below, there is a high chance that your body is acidic and you may need to change your diet before it accumulates and turn into deadly diseases or cancer one day.
